All diving sites are less than 10 minutes away by boat going around the bay of Calvi towards the outer limit of the Revellata Natural Reserve.

CI4, B17, St. Francis, Bibliothèque, Sec des Belges, Revellata, Punta Rossa, Punta Bianca, Sec du Lion, Sec du Clocher Spano…

CI4

This is Instruction Center n°4 for the 11th parachuting regiment of the French Foreign Legion; legionnaires based in Calvi train in this shallow and protected site at the foot of the citadel. A group of small boulders, a paradise for octopi and other burrowing species, a gradual descent on the sandy bottom 10 meters deep to look for rays, squid, bonito and the famous sea horses.

B-17

« I crash-landed the B-17 on the water, close to the citadel of Calvi. The plane did not break during the crash and floated for a few minutes, enabling us to evacuate. As for the 3 gunners killed during the attack, their bodies sunk with the wreck ». Lieutenant Chaplick.

The Baron, an American B-17 bomber, is among the most beautiful wrecks to visit. It is located at a depth of 24 to 28 meters when leaving the port of Calvi at the foot of the citadel and is sometimes haunted by sunfish and giant stingrays !

Saint François

Coves at the foot of a granite point offer a magical view of the citadel and the Montegrosso mountain range.

An ideal site for first dives and beginners, while more experienced divers can make the pilgrimage to the immersed marble virgin at a depth of 24 meters on the sandy bottom. It is not uncommon to come across the solitary eagle ray or a couple of sea robins.

Bibliothèque

This site gets its name from its striking appearance: the granite relief of the coast looks like piles of books. This is the realm for explorers: grottos, passages, air pockets at depths of 15 meters.... A maze of oversized debris, the ground lined with the Eye of St. Lucia, here the encrusting anemone is queen. Put your lights on so that you won't miss anything !

Sec des Belges

In 1992 the University of Liege created a marine biology research center where scientists could work with their feet literally in the water. Stareso is situated at the end of the Revallata Cape of Calvi. The site was chosen for the exceptional purity of its marine environment: the water is unpolluted, the flora and fauna are abundant and diverse.

The dive site is an alignment of submerged rocky peaks that descend from 3 to 38 meters, accessible at all levels. Dentex, groupers, barracudas, and moray eels wait for you; and during specific times of the year this is also the hunting ground of Mediterranean tuna !

Revellata

Posed on the water, the Revellata Cape is an exceptional site for its seclusion, beauty and preservation. The natural reserve begins at the foot of the lighthouse also known as the lighthouse of the gulf of Calvi.

An extravagant underwater constitution with canyons, corridors, steep drop offs. Immerse yourself with an abundance of species such as grouper, dentex, stingrays, moray eels, sea bream, tuna and many more that make this place THE MUST-SEE SITE of Corsica.

Punta Bianca

Going past the Revellata Cape and the reserve, this point offers two alternatives: the search for coral grottos or continue along the giant steps where it isn't rare to come across schools of stingrays. The fiercest and biggest groupers can be found here.

Sec du Lion

A granite formation emerges behind the Revellata Cape. It recalls a majestic lion lying on the water. Dive here and rush by boat into a nearby grotto that was famous for the Monk Seals that lived here until 1970.

Sec du Clocher

This site is for amateurs of awe-inspiring depth and freefalling into the deep blue sea!

Located in the middle of the bay Calvi's church steeple is the fixed landmark on the shore, hence the site's name!

From 30 to 60 meters sumptuous boulders appear covered with gigantic red gorgonian. At the bottom everything is bigger, the lobsters, the sea slugs, the groupers and the phenomenon isn't due to depth perception...
